This self portrait was created during quarantine, depicting the artist at home with her three children as they learned to adapt to life under one roof. The early days were uncertain, but over time the household found new rhythms, navigating individual needs through shared space. The scene reflects both challenge and resilience, holding the complexity of caregiving, creativity, and presence within a single moment. The painting was built from life using a mirror set up in the living room, beginning with a mapped structure on the canvas. The space doubles as both home and studio, marked by a large bay window that extends beyond the edge of the frame. Layers of blue move throughout the work, anchoring the scene in depth and self expression, a constant thread in the artist’s practice.
