Two different varieties were purchased for this still life, but only one was fully in bloom. Through time spent observing their shapes, colors, and movement, the flowers gradually revealed themselves and became a favorite subject. Alstroemerias are often associated with friendship, devotion, and mutual support. Their layered petals and flowing leaves reflect both softness and strength, and what began as simple observation developed into a deeper appreciation, carried naturally through the paint and onto the canvas.
